Born in 1926 under simple conditions, she never had a particularly stable home life, and was frequently in and out of foster homes. However, then known as Norma Jean Baker, she never played the victim and never let her unfortunate circumstances hinder her ambition or quash her passion for fame and success.
It was this passion and determination that, along with sheer hard work in the modelling and film industries, that she transformed herself into one of the most influential women of the 20th century – and this legacy means she is still loved and adored around the world today.
She was fiercely passionate about her career, and her global stardom was a result of sheer resilience, determination, and fearless courage. She had a voice and stood up to ‘old Hollywood’ ways and challenged them. As such, she was a trailblazer and can now be seen as a modern woman before her time.
It was these core values that made Marilyn a true inspiration to us at Revolution Pro, and why we wanted to collaborate with her for our A/W ’21 campaign. Our ambition was to create products that not only reflect her timeless style and red-carpet glamour, but also connect people around the world to feel confident, inspired, and iconic when wearing the range.
