The New York Heritage Collection

Though it just hit shelves this month, Kiehl’s Limited Edition New York Heritage Collection won’t be around long. Launched in celebration of the brand’s 160 year anniversary, the line consists of four historical formulas (that remain customer faves today) originally developed at the brand’s esteemed East Village apothecary. Original Musk Oil, Ultra Facial Cream and Moisturizer and Calendula Toner come in snazzy black and gold packaging that give a nod to Kiehl’s NYC roots.

Revisiting the Classics

Did you know…the Original Musk Oil, ($39) is said to have been formulated by a royal relative of the Kiehl’s family? According to legend, the cult classic was crafted by a Russian prince before it was stashed away in a vat labeled ‘Love Oil’ in the basement of the flagship store. Interesting…regardless of where it came from, one thing is for sure…the Original Musk Oil stands the test of time and remains synonymous with the Kiehl’s brand.

Did you know…first offered in the 1960s, the original Ultra Facial Moisturizer, ($22) is still one the brand’s most in demand items? The versatile, lightweight formula remains a customer favorite as does the adventure-tested, rich Ultra Facial Cream, ($39) that sold over 1,480,000 pieces around the world last year.

Flower children, rejoice…Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner is proof that some things never change. Just as smoothing, refreshing and wholesome as the early bottles crafted in the 1960s, the brand’s toner continues to be made from real whole Marigold flowers. Handpicked, flowers are placed into each and every bottle to create an alcohol-free, gentle toner perfect for oily prone skin.

Kiehl’s Limited Edition Collection is available in the New York City Flagship store, as well as other Kiehl’s stores nationwide until December 2011. For more info, check out the site.

Clean Skin On-the-Go

Excess oil, congested pores and impurities cause unsightly breakouts. For those of us with busy lifestyles and who are always on-the-go….well, sometimes we have to learn that the hard way. And sometimes, we have no other option…or do we?

Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel releases their new Oil Controlling Towelettes, $6 for 20 - perfect for the busiest of gals. We love these individually wrapped towelettes for cleaning and conditioning almost anywhere (they even comply with TSA travel requirements).

Added aloe helps to restore moisture and balance skin while the spun lace cloth extracts trapped dirts & oils and tones skin. Perfect for sensitive skin, the 100% natural witch hazel product is non-drying like other make-up removing wipes.

Easily accessible, Oil Controlling Towelettes can be picked up at stores like Walgreens, Duane Reade, Stop & Shop and more. Find out where to pick up a pack online…

No-Tug Heavenly Luxe Dual Brush

We all know that tugging and pulling on lids promotes collagen-breakdown and eventual sagging of the skin. So, when it comes to make-up applicators…choose wisely.

It Cosmetics introduces their latest luxe make-up brush, the No-Tug Heavenly Luxe Dual Shadow Brush ($24). The high quality mega brush has a soft-touch rubberized handle to make application easy, while the high brush hair count makes for quit an effective distribution of shadow. Even better? It’s 100% cruelty-free.

Softly apply your favorite eyeshadow in sweeping motions over the lid. For all over shadow and lid application, use the large flat side of the brush. For the crease, turn the large end sideways and use back-and-forth windshield wiper like motions. To give lower lash lines that airbrushed liner effect, use the smaller end of the brush.

The No-Tug Heavenly Luxe Dual Shadow Brush is available exclusively online.
