Contouring has been the “not-so-secret” makeup artist trick for decades (no it wasn’t actually The
Kardashians who invented contouring!) and has been historically used to add structure back into your
face or body. Contouring can enhance features or create the illusion of different shapes. And there are
different levels... you can create a very natural soft contour, or go all out – it’s completely down to
personal preference.
But how do you contour?! I’m going to show you how to contour your face in 3 simple steps using the new Revolution Conceal & Define Infinite Longwear
Concealer.
Step 1
After applying your base, pick up your skin-true shade and pinpoint any areas you would like to conceal. I
use the shade C2 to cover up any blemishes or neutralise redness. I also use a small amount under my
eyes to help cover any dark circles. Apply and blend with your ring finger, brush or beauty sponge.
Step 2
Time to add dimension. Select a deeper shade to your skin tone, but still matching your undertone (I have a
pink to neutral undertone). I use the shade C11 and prefer a sculpted look, so apply on my cheekbones, on my
temple, on my jawline and down the side of my nose. Then simply blend, keeping the product in the desired
areas.
Step 3
Lastly, it’s time to highlight. Pick a shade or two lighter than your true match shade. I use the shade C1
and apply this one under my eyes, on top of my cheekbones, under my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose,
around my mouth and chin and on my forehead. This again helps to create more structure in my face and gives
the illusion that my face is more lifted.
And there you have it, see it’s not as scary as it looks! Have you tried contouring? Let me know your thoughts.
